The sculptural work is a visual exploration of the individual within the social construct and constraints of the communities we gravitate to or required to navigate in. It can be cathartic, confessional or confrontational but the connection to making and the human condition is constant.
The idea of common threads that can unravel singularly intrigues me. This familiarity often directs the metaphoric juxtaposition of fabricated image and found object. I am intrigued by the dichotomies we confront, absolve, avoid and rationalize to fit our perceived needs for connectedness and individual autonomy. These ideas are often self-referential in that the "deep, dark truthful mirror" tends to reflect only my own fears, glories and hypocrisies.
